Kirkland Speaks is a volunteer-run site about local government in Kirkland, Washington. We collect as little as we can.

What we collect

• Newsletter sign-ups. If you subscribe, we keep your name and email address so we can send you the newsletter. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.

• Volunteer and contact forms. What you type into a form is sent to us by email so we can reply. We don't add you to any list unless you ask.

• Website logs. Our website host (Squarespace) records ordinary technical information about visits, such as pages viewed and browser type, and may set the cookies it needs to run the site. We don't run advertising trackers.

What we don't do

We never sell, rent or share your information with anyone. We use it only to send what you asked for and to answer your messages.

Our own tools

We use Google services (Drive, Sheets and Calendar) through small programs that run on our own computers to organize our work. Those programs read and write only files in our own Google account. They store no information about site visitors or subscribers, and they share nothing with third parties.
